Overview
This in-person workshop will engage local science and technology research academic institutions to promote responsible research best practices and prevent the misuse of sensitive, emerging, and advanced biotechnologies.
Participant Profiles & Target Audience
We are seeking researchers, laboratory directors, human resources personnel, and other relevant stakeholders who work with or oversee emerging and advanced biotechnology at science and technology research academic institutions in Morocco.
Scope of the Program
The workshop aims to:
- Engage Morocco’s academic sector in securing research involving sensitive dual-use technologies.
- Start with a Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice survey of selected participants to assess academic vetting and research oversight programs at their institutions.
- Conduct a three-day in-person workshop focused on building awareness of research security challenges through real-world case studies.
- Strengthen the capacity to identify and mitigate risks associated with research collaboration and ensure a safe and secure research environment.
